For this summer (rainy season for us here in Manila), whats hot are Technicolor Eyes as InStyle Beauty Buzz has stated. I first thought maybe that trend of getting contacts that would either change the color of your eyes or make them like kitty cat types (do you remember those? I personally thought it was horrible. Imagine seeing a blue-eyed Asian girl, now thats just weird)
Technicolor eyes would mean coloring your eyelids with eye shadows that will make your natural eye color pop naturally. Blue eye makeup is making a comeback which is probably a normal thing since leggings and neon were brought back. Blue, gives that vibrant hue, also lavender, green, and deep purple.
“It’s a great way to bring drama to the eyes without going dark,†says Thandie Newton’s makeup artist, Kay Montano, who recommends lining the edge of eyes in black before layering on the color. “Bright eye makeup is like a big cocktail ring—it adds personality to your look.â€

Beautiful. Waterproof Eyeshadow that doesn’t lie, that doesn’t have such rancid colors!
Sephora has this brilliantly put together a water proof section. Want to look fabulous when you pop out of the pool and not look like some drama queen with mascara drizzling down your face with eyeshadow spots just visibly faint, with smeared lipstick across your face, or no make up left but the horrible drama effect of the mascara drizzling down your face? Say good bye to those. Waterproof make up is great for the beach and for rainy days as well (those days when you don’t have an umbrella and you’re stuck under some huge tent with everyone else huddling for cover and you still get pretty drenched).
Dior Eye Show is the eyeshadow that stays put. It has all these new shimmering, glamorous, metallic (the hot trend this season) shades with soft texture, a long-lasting, waterproof finish. How awesome is that?
Now you can look absolutely stunning anytime, anywhere!

Taken off Top 10 Beauty Trends from Preview Magazine. It showcased what has been a trend for quite some time now.
Metallic eyelids apparently creates an angelic appearance on glowing faces. With lips kept nude, moistened with a hint of clear gloss. The metallic lids are defined with black liner and mascara to add weight to ephemeral tones.
Silver shades can also be applied at the part of the eyelid near the nose? That area works best for silver especially for girls who are chinita. Emphasized with black eyeliner and brown eye shadow for the remainder of your eyelid and mascara. I usually do this trick to open my eyes more.
Bright eyeshadow from the 80’s is still part of the on going trend. Eyes are awash in bright colors reminiscent of feathers, wings, and blooms. You can blend as much as three colors to get the dramatic look you yearn for. My best-friend is a huge supporter of overflowing eyeshadow colors, she even adds glitter green eyeshadow mixed with her dark green shade. Playing with all these colors is like playing with paint. You must be aware though of what color suits your tone, sometimes choosing a color that is pretty to look at, does not really match your skin tone leaving it to look dull and kind of too costume-y for you.
Smoky eyes are still in effect. This season, dark smoky eyes highlighted with a touch of gold eyeshadow, overdosed with liner and mascara, gives you the finishing looks of your evening dress. I personally believe that smoky eyes are so dramatic, you don’t even need to dress up at night, even in a simple white t-shirt and cute skirt, you can blow away everyone with eyes dress like these. Its so sexy, so glamourous!
So for this season, eyelids could be covered in Metallic, Colored, or Smoky.

Innovation on the rise people. Always wanted the mysterious smoky eye look? Well if you’re like me and have no idea where to put which colors on your eyelid try Stila’s revolutionary 4-pan palette that teaches you every step. When I say teaches.. it TALKS to you. It includes 4 shades to create that smoky eye and a voice.

A bit pricey at $40 a pop but beauty comes with a price right?
During the 80’s my mother would always make sure she had blue eyeshadow. It was always blue until it soon became white, then purple, but blue has been an all time favorite. Alot of celebrities and actresses nowadays are also bringing back the blue in the eyes.
I found an article about applying blue shadow. Pretty interesting facts.
Blue looks best on women with fair skin & black or platinum hair-color and brown or gray eyes, or on women with very dark skin. According to makeup artist, Bobbi Brown, it’s best not to match your shadow to your eyes because all anyone will notice is the shadow.
I still however can’t pull off wearing blue eyeshadow, but its such an intriguing color that I can’t help but drool over the color every time I see one.
